Job Title: Territory Manager/Outside Sales

About the Job Opportunity

Caliber is seeking a Territory Manager/Outside Sales to join our GTA team. This role offers a unique opportunity to sell various technical goods to manufacturers,
producers, and shops. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the products part of their portfolio such as metal cutting tools, abrasives for metal finishing and grinding,
work holding for metal machining, and precision measuring tools. Moreover, the candidate will advise production machine shops, tool & die makers, mold producers, and medical and aircraft parts manufacturers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain sales relationships with customers in an assigned geographical territory
  • Create sales relationships with potential customers
  • Develop business strategies to achieve business goals
  • Learn and maintain updated knowledge of metalworking to explain benefits and features to customers
  • Respond to customer questions about products and applications in a timely manner
  • Consult and maintain a relationship with supplier representatives of metalworking products and applications
  • Attend on-site supplier training to understand, learn how to use, and troubleshoot the metalworking products and applications
  • Attend regular sales meetings to explain the products and present proposals to potential and existing customers
  • Attend monthly in-person training to understand the metalworking products' features, applications, and marketing trends
  • Attend online product training to maintain the most up-to-date knowledge of the metalworking products' features and applications
  • Understand the customer goals and challenges and recommend metalworking products and applications that are appropriate to their needs
  • Draft and issue sales contracts
  • Maintain organized and updated customer records
  • Provide after-sales support to customers by training and troubleshooting problems related to products and applications
  • When required, oversee the activities of other technical staff and sales specialists who are serving their portfolio

Employment and Education Requirements:

  • A university degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in sales
  • 10+ years of experience in metal cutting and machine tools
  • 10+ years of combined experience in applications in the production machine industry, manufacturers, shops, and makers
  • Thorough understanding of products and applications
  • Previous shop floor experience
  • Fluency in the English and French language
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good salesmanship skills
  • Pleasant demeanor
  • A valid driver’s license and a good driving record is required
  • Drive a well-maintained car with air-conditioning

Details of the Job Offer

Terms of employment: Permanent contract
Hours of work per week: 45 hours per week
Language of Work: English
Location of work: On-site and on-route in Ontario
Competitive salary plus commission
Car allowance & gas allowance
